Fourth graders have been busy working on their first unit in science called ecosystems. It has been great fun as we have been working with live animals and observing them closely. The students are learning how living and non-living things interact with one another. They grew plants from seed (alfalfa, mustard, grass) and added crickets and roly-polys to their terrariums. They created an aquarium with mosquito fish, pond snails and also added water plants like elodea, algae and duckweed. We created an eco-column by putting both the terrarium and aquarium together. Take a look at the pictures below. Students will be adding podcasts to this science page so stay tuned!!
